Introduction

About the blogger
I'm Damiën, a 24 year old gothic lolita wearing guy from the Netherlands.
I live in a studio with my partner, M.
I'm a graduated Allround Desktop Publisher (DTP).

At the moment I work as a volunteer for 4 days in the week.
In my free time I'm a badass Dovahkiin.

Music, movies, photography, BJD and videogames are the things that I like alot.
Besides these things I also have a passion for delicious food.
I'm addicted to bubble tea, and I love gyouza.

I also have a thing for teddybears and motorcycles.
Every now and then I love to attend lolita meet-ups, and seeing my epic, sweet frilly friends again.

I like to be creative by sewing things for either my dolls or me.
But also crafting and making jewelry. At times I like to draw or write.
Things to keep yourself busy and prevent from being bored.

I first started blogging about my life on Livejournal in 2008.
In 2010 I started this blog on blogspot.
In 2011 I decided to stop writing on livejournal, after being absent alot there.

I'm a FTM Transgender. My public coming-out can be read -here-
Currently Pre-Everything,  just started with the diagnistics at the Vumc (VU University Medical Cente) in Amsterdam.

This blog
This blog is about my daily life.
This is the place where I post my outfits, what I will make, have made and want to make.
But also about meet-ups or events I attended.
And every now and then I will also post a vlog.

Please feel free to comment my entries, or to follow me if you like. ♥

What is Lolita?
Lolita is a Japanese street fashion inspired primarily by the clothing and general aesthetics of the Rococo and Victorian periods. This fashion movement started in Japan in the 1980's and has evolved greatly since. Nowadays Lolita Fashion has grown to be relatively popular all over the world. Relatively popular for an obscure Japanese street fashion, that is.
The term "Lolita" may be off-putting to those who first hear about the fashion because of the connotation it holds from Vladimir Nabokov's novel, "Lolita", which changed the meaning of the name for most people in the Western world. It is generally assumed though that the name of the fashion comes from a distortion of the meaning while word-borrowing from English. In the case of the fashion the term "Lolita" only refers to the child-like nature of some of the clothes and is also used because of the beauty or cuteness of the name. Lolita Fashion is emphatically not about looking sexy and is instead about looking cute or elegant.

What is BJD?
A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls. These are cast in polyurethane synthetic resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic. They are predominantly produced in Japan, South Korea and China. The BJD style has been described as both realistic and influenced by anime. They commonly range in size from about 60 centimetres (24 in) for the larger dolls, 40 cm (16 in) for the mini dolls, and all the way down to 10 cm (4 in) or so for the tiniest of the tiny BJDs. BJDs are primarily intended for adult collectors and customizers. They are made to be easy to customize, by painting, changing the eyes and wig, and so forth.
